Electrical Recycling at Outback Jacks: Complying with Environmental Standards

At Outback Jacks, we're committed to environmental responsibility, and in accordance with WEEE regulations, we gladly accept Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) from the public at no cost. Upholding our environmental obligations is paramount, and we ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation. These regulations are crafted to promote the recovery of electrical and electronic waste, aligning with directives aimed at achieving targets for their collection, treatment, and environmentally sound disposal.

How Does WEEE Work?

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is accepted free of charge, operating on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Additionally, we responsibly collect waste batteries, including rechargeable ones, without any purchase obligation on your part. It's important to note that each local authority also provides facilities for free acceptance of household WEEE and small batteries. To maintain eco-friendliness, please refrain from disposing of WEEE and batteries in household bins; always opt for recycling.

Our takeback policy operates on a one-for-one basis, where the returned product must be of a similar type or serve the same function as the new item purchased. For instance, if you're acquiring a new headtorch, we'll gladly accept your old one, ensuring its proper disposal.

Returning Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment:

If you're returning electrical items, visit our premises at Outback Jacks, conveniently located at Ballybane Industrial Estate, Galway, H91 VFA3. Upon purchasing a new electrical item, feel free to return your old one to us at no charge, provided it's of a similar type and function. Please note, we reserve the right to decline contaminated WEEE presenting health and safety risks.

Forgot to Bring Your Old Electrical Item?

No worries! If you forget to bring back your old electrical item upon purchase, simply return it on your next visit. Remember to keep your receipt for the new item and present it to a member of staff when returning the old one.

Organising Free Takeback for Online Orders:

For online orders, your electrical item will be delivered by a courier. You can arrange to recycle your old electrical item free of charge, as long as it meets the criteria. Bring it back to our store with proof of purchase. Alternatively, you can return your electrical item to your local Civic Amenity Centre.

Returning Waste Batteries:

Returning waste batteries is hassle-free and free of charge, operating on a one-for-zero basis—no purchase required. Our store provides a container for small batteries, and waste battery recycling is always complimentary. Additionally, local authority civic amenity facilities accept WEEE and waste batteries at no cost.
