About Hi-Tec Walking Boots & Shoes
From comfortable waterproof walking shoes to lightweight waterproof full leather hiking boots with vibram soles, we have a range of Hi-Tec footwear to suit your needs at Outback Jacks.
Hi-Tec was founded back in 1974 and has its heritage in sports shoes. Hi-Tec was the first ever brand to create a pioneering lightweight squash shoe. This was innovative and cutting edge in the way that it looked at the specific movements of the sport and tailor-made footwear for these precise requirements. A lot can be understood about the company from this first venture into the footwear industry. Something which is still relevant to what Hi-Tec does today is that this first shoe was carefully designed to tackle a specific problem with a high-performance product. This approach is very much applied to their walking shoes and boots in today's ranges. Just as it was with their revolutionary squash shoe, these boots and shoes carefully address the issues which a hiker or a walker might come upon.
High-performance shoes and boots
The Hi-Tec brand soon became just as pioneering in the outdoor scene as it was in the sporting scene. In 1978, for example, Hi-Tec were responsible for the world's first lightweight hiking boots. The way that this brand melded expertise in the world of sport and the world of outdoor hiking and walking has led to some of the most satisfying high-performance walking boots available. The company emphasises athletic capability as well as comfort. There is no unnecessary weight to their shoes. Every ounce counts. Hi-Tec has reached the top of the ladder across many different disciplines, being a well-respected name in the world of racquet sports, running, climbing, hiking and much else besides. If you are talking about outdoor activities, there is a good chance that Hi-Tec could be a big part of the conversation.
Environmentally conscious brand
As well as the pure quality of Hi-Tec boots and shoes, we also love the fact that they are an extremely environmentally conscientious brand. They are focused in a big way on both immediate action and planning for the future. Part of their plan is to achieve carbon neutrality by at least 2024. Along the way, this means that there have already been certain tangible changes. This includes all their boxes being made from 100% recycled materials and being 100% recyclable. But it also means that they are looking into ensuring that all of their partnerships, whether in transportation and shipping or the manufacturing side of things, reinforce their ethical and environmental goals.
