Easy to use technical cleaner with UV protection for cotton, canvas and synthetic tents, awnings marquees, rucksacks, paniers and camera bags. Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash cleans effectively, revitalises water repellency, and improves the useful life of fabrics by protecting against UV deterioration.

Anyone who is active outdoors needs waterproof equipment. Whether it be a day-to-day rucksack, panniers on your bike, or a tent for summer holidays, most of us have outdoor equipment of some description.

Tents and rucksacks use synthetic fabrics, such as nylon or polyester, with a thin watertight polyurethane (PU) or elastomeric coating on the inside and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating on the outside. This combination gives great strength and water resistance, combined with light weight; ideal attributes for outdoor equipment. Unfortunately these fabrics are vulnerable to sunlight and in two weeks of continuous exposure, can lose up to half of their strength. Additionally, the inner coating will degrade if it is left damp for long periods.

Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash cleans the entire fabric, and protects from the effects of both UV and water. It saves you money by potentially doubling the useful life of your outdoor gear. Nikwax Tent &Gear SolarWash can be applied to wet or dry weatherproof fabrics, including cotton, canvas and all synthetic fabrics. How to use Tent and Gear SolarWash:

Your outdoor equipment could be soaking up water just because it is dirty. First, try cleaning it with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash, and if it is fairly new, or recently re-waterproofed, the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) will be revitalised just from cleaning.

Once the gear has been thoroughly used*, you will need to add DWR using Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof for equipment or Nikwax Cotton Proof for cotton, polycotton and canvas.

* You don't need to re-waterproof every time you clean your waterproof equipment. Regular cleaning will enhance the performance of your gear. With regular cleaning, you should be able to clean your gear 5-6 times with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash before it requires re-waterproofing. When Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash alone does not revitalise the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of your gear (e.g. water does not bead on the fabric surface) it’s time to re-waterproof using Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof for equipment or Nikwax Cotton Proof for cotton, polycotton and canvas.

Hand Wash

Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash can be applied to wet or dry weatherproof fabrics, including cotton, canvas and all synthetic fabrics.

Use gloves.

Erect tent OR protect working surface and lay item flat.

Hold spray-on bottle 15cm / 6 in away from item. Use approximately 50ml / 1.7oz of product per 1 m2 / 10.76 ft2 of fabric*

Spray evenly to outside of fabric. For large items apply in sections.

Rub in well with a damp cloth/sponge, paying attention to particularly dirty areas. Use a soft nylon brush if necessary to remove stubborn stains.**

Rinse with clean water using a cloth or sponge.

Item(s) should be air dried. Allow item(s) to dry fully before packing away.

To maintain waterproofing always wash with Nikwax Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash. Do not use detergents.

Once the gear has been thoroughly used, you will need to add Durable Water Repellency (DWR) using using Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof for equipment or Nikwax Cotton Proof for cotton, polycotton and canvas.

*The coverage is approximate and depends on the condition of the fabric being treated.

**Marks may appear on fabric if excess product is not wiped away. Test on a hidden area first.

Synthetic Care:

Synthetic fabrics used for tents and rucksacks are coated with a water repellent treatment. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light both destroys the water repellency and leads to a reduction in fabric tear strength, significantly shortening the lifespan of equipment.

The application of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash an double the effective life of equipment by cleaning and protecting against UV damage, while also revitalising Durable Water Repellency (DWR) to keep the rain out.

When you order online at www.outbackjacks.ie you have a choice of having your order delivered to you at home or work, or you can collect it instore at Outback Jacks, Ballybane, Galway.

WHAT IS CLICK AND COLLECT?

Click and Collect with Outback Jacks enables you to shop in a way that suits you. This is a free service available in ROI and is available between the hours of 9am and 6pm Monday - Saturday and 12pm-5pm on Sundays. You will usually be able to collect from the shop from 1-3 working days.

If you would like to reserve an item instore, the click and collect option is for you. If you cannot collect the item you purchased, it can be sent by courier to you for a small delivery charge of €6.95.

Don't forget to to take your order reference and details to store to collect your order. Please bring a printout of your order summary, or email confirmation as proof of purchase.

GENERAL DELIVERY INFORMATION

Items ordered online will be delivered as soon as possible in accordance with the requested delivery service. Please note that delivery times are approximate and can be affected by unforeseen circumstances.


1. Order Processing: We strive to process all orders within the estimated time scales, which typically involves packing and dispatching within 1-3 working days. Delivery by courier is expected within 1-2 working days. However, please note that these time frames are approximate and may be subject to unforeseen circumstances.
2. Availability of Goods: All goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply your ordered goods within thirty days, we will promptly notify you and provide an expected delivery date.
3. Cancellation of Outstanding Orders: If your order remains outstanding after 30 days, you have the option to cancel it. In cases where payment has already been made, such as through post orders with a cheque, we will either provide an alternative item or issue a full refund for the affected item(s).
4. Delivery Times: Please be aware that delivery times are approximate and can be influenced by unforeseen circumstances. While we make every effort to ensure timely delivery, we cannot guarantee exact delivery dates.
By placing an order with us, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team.

In the event of any goods delivered by us being damaged in transit, deficient of items shown on the delivery note or failing to match the items ordered by you, then such details must be notified by you to us within 3 working days of receipt. If we receive no such notification the customer will be deemed to have accepted the items as satisfactory. Non-delivery of goods by couriers must be reported to us within 7 working days upon receiving our notification of despatch of goods in Ireland. If we receive no such notification from the customer, the item will be deemed delivered. No further action can be taken.
We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or failure to deliver by the company's appointed carrier. Liability in such cases is limited to the value of those items, which are shown to have not been received by the customer.

Delivery windows provided by our courier companies are an estimate only and may change due to issues outside of our control. These could include but are not limited to issues such as inclement weather or traffic delays. If you need a delivery by a specific date, we recommend you use your Named Day delivery service/courier. We will endeavour to work with this company to have products ready for collection.

All orders are trackable and traceable.

Returns

IN-STORE PURCHASES

All goods must be returned within 14 days with your receipt, items must be in a unused/unworn condition including no unpleasant odours with the original packaging/boxes and labels attached. Refunds and exchanges are not permitted after the 14 day period.

ONLINE RETURNS

If you are returning goods which you have decided you do not want (cooling off period), under the distance trading regulations you have 14 calendar days in which you can change your mind and cancel your contract with us. This 14 days begins from the day your receive your goods. Please let us know as soon as you decide that you have changed your mind. You must return the goods within 14 days and they should be returned in an unused condition in their original packaging. Returns for this reason will be at your own cost. If you require help, we can arrange for a courier collection at your own cost, Our Arranged Courier Costs 1kg to 30Kg = €14.50 +23% Vat = total €17.84 per box. 30Kg + must be returned on a pallet and the cost of this service is €50.00 + 23% Vat = Total €61.50 please send an email with your order number to info@outbackjacks.ie and we will issue you with a returns number. The returns number should be clearly displayed on the item for return. No returns will be accepted without this number. In general, proof of posting should be obtained and produced as evidence of despatch in the event of goods being lost in transit. All applicable refunds of returned goods will be processed within 14 days from the date of product return. Refunds will not be issued until we have received the product in its original or delivered state, and in an unused condition. Please note - any delivery charges will not be refunded Goods must be returned: Within 14 days of receipt. In an unused/unworn condition including no unpleasant odours. With the original packaging/boxes/labels attached. Once a tent is pitched outside it is no longer considered to be in perfect re-saleable condition. Refunds are made onto the same card used for purchase. Loyalty points earned from the purchase will be deducted. Delivery charges will not be refunded to you.

FAULTY ITEMS

If you wish to return any item due to it being faulty, please send an email to services@outbackjacks.ie stating details including images of the fault and send it back to us together with the item in its original packaging, where possible, within 14 days. On inspection and agreement of faulty returned items, we will exchange the item, repair or refund the full cost including any delivery charges incurred where appropriate.If you are in any doubt, please contact our customer service department. We are here to help you. We recommend that all items returned to us be sent recorded delivery with insurance paid as a minimum. Your local Post Office will be able to advise. If you are unhappy due to a perceived technical product fault or misdescribed product, please contact us to arrange a return. Outback Jacks reserve the right to take a reasonable amount of time to make a decision and inspection on the product. In certain cases like Tents/Awnings & Waterproof/Breathable fabric products, the product may also be reviewed by the third party operations team. Please allow a considered amount of time for us to inspect the item. Customers will be offered in this order: repair, replacement or refund. REFUNDS

Any refunds will be issued once we have received the goods in their original condition and with the original receipt. This refund includes the total cost of goods sent only, NOT the delivery charge unless the item has passed inspection that there is a fault. Until you return items to us you are responsible for their safe keeping. We do not accept liability for returned packages damaged in transit back to us. It is your responsibility to wrap products adequately to prevent damage, and to obtain a proof of postage certificate. Returns that are damaged or soiled may not be accepted and may be sent back to the customer and/or refund refused. Due to reasons of hygiene, we are unable to exchange socks, underwear, whistles, sleeping bags, towels etc.

LATE RETURNS

Items must be returned within 14 working days from the date of delivery. Returns received outside this timeframe may be accepted at the discretion of Outback Jacks, and, depending on the circumstances, may not be refunded or only be refunded as a store credit.

INCORRECT ORDERS

If you have received an incorrect item in your order, you must contact Customer Support immediately services@outbackjacks.ie

MISSING ITEMS

With large orders, items may be dispatched separately, and subsequently, arrive separately. Please take note of those items featured in your dispatch confirmation e-mail. However, if something is missing, contact Customer Support immediately. If you wish to return an item bought as part of a multi-buy promotion (e.g. 3 for 2, Buy One Get One Free, Buy One Get One Half Price etc.), all items purchased as part of that promotion must be returned. Sale items may be returned for exchange not refund within 14 days as per above policy - Value as appears on receipt. Refunds and Exchanges are not permitted after the 14 day period.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Please note that no returns are permitted on gift vouchers. Gift Vouchers should be treated like cash. If a voucher is lost, stolen etc. it will not be replaced under any circumstances. No cash can be returned in exchange for a gift voucher.

CANCELLATION

Cancellation of an order is only possible prior to the item(s) being dispatched. If you wish to cancel your order before it has been dispatched please telephone 091-761841. As we try to process orders immediately, it may not always be possible to prevent an order from being dispatched. If your order has been dispatched you may return the items to us in accordance with our Returns Policy. However you will remain liable for the paid outgoing carriage costs. We want you to be entirely satisfied with every purchase made from Outback Jacks and strive to offer you excellent quality, value and service at all times.

TENT & AWNING RETURNS IN-STORE & ONLINE POLICY

All tent & Awning warranty claims & returns must be inspected by trained qualified persons. This is done on behalf of Outback Jacks by third party inspectors (usually the Manufacturing brand) We work with our manufacturers to manage all warranty repairs & claims, If you believe your product is a warranty claim, please initially contact us from whom you purchased the product and we will advise you of the most appropriate course of action. Before we start the returns processes and if you believe your tent/awning is leaking we will need to rule out condensation. Please see reasons for condenstion below especially in new tents or awnings and if you are new to the camping scene. If we feel your product needs to be returned to the manufacturer for inspection, we will return the product on your behalf. The more detail about the issue/fault you can provide in a written email info@outbackjacks.ie, the quicker and more accurate we can aim to resolve the product issue. Due to seasonal demands and use of third party courier services, time to organise pallet collections, and for completed inspection can take from 5 - 20 working days. Please bare in mind there is also a time frame for a product to be returned to us after inspection. Please allow 3-5 working days. If it is deemed after a professional inspection that the fault is not normal wear & tear* or a manufacturer fault, the consumer will be liable for repair costs & all carriage related carriages. Note: Tents and awnings over 30kg are uplifted on a pallet for inspection. Products must be returned to us for inspection clean, dry and in their proper bag. Any products received in an unsatisfactory condition may be returned to the sender without inspection and may void their warranty due to mis-treatment of the product. The tent may not be accepted if the tent is wet or excessively dirty or has mold growth due to Health and Safety concerns - the tent must be 100% dry, or it will be returned to you without attention. This warranty covers the functionality of the product for its normal intended use. It does not cover a malfunction that has resulted from improper or unreasonable use and care or without maintenance, accidents, damage due to excessive winds/rain, camping in weather warnings, improper re-packing or natural degradation due to sunlight. Through a process of continual evolution, Tent manufacturers design and develop equipment for the intended end user. Advice if required, please contact us if further advice is required. Please retain your original receipt, as proof of purchase will be required to authorise an extended warranty claim. In the event of your item being inspected and a fault found, we will repair, replace or refund in that order.

* Note on Air Tents: Beam failure is not classed as a major fault in the air products, it is treated the same as poles in a tent/awning which fail from time to time. We do not accept returns for beam failures as these are fair wear and tear parts that are not covered by manufacturing warranties. However, we do hold a substantial level of replacement air tubes for your air products. Contact us for more details.

AS A GUIDE, THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY:TENTS / AWNINGS

General wear and tear over extended periods of use.
Flaws in the fabric caused by excessive wear.
Water ingress through fabric as a result of UV degradation.
Water ingress through seams caused by excessive abrasion of seams or seam sealant tape.
Broken zips caused by forcing, jamming or improper use.
Over tensioned/stretched seams coming apart.
Buckles subjected to undue force or abrasion.
Broken carry/roller bag if they are over loaded, used for carrying other items or used as a toy.
Any pole breakages/beam punctures, these are treated as "fair wear and tear".
Collateral damage from a pole breakages/beam punctures.
UV degradation.
Condensation, usually caused by lack of ventilation.
Use by rental companies, outdoor centres, or youth groups, via commercial or not for profit Approved Activity Providers, is governed by our standard warranty terms. In any claim circumstance, manufacturers reserve the right to inspect in accordance with their fair wear and tear policy, and will advise of the outcome thereafter.
We will exchange or refund the cost of the item(s) where appropriate. All goods must be in a new and unused condition together with a copy of your original receipt and returned to Outback Jacks within 14 days of receiving returns number.
